This report summarizes a study of 34 black women business owners by the Federal Reserve of Kansas City. Key findings include that growth of the rate of business ownership by black women is the fastest of any group in the nation as well as the effects of these businesses on the local economy through providing local jobs, developing communities and improving the tax base.
