FoodLab Detroit
Our program model is defined according to our 3Cs: CULTIVATE, CONNECT, and CATALYZE. We CULTIVATE business development through two training modules — "Launching and Running A Hobby Food Business," designed to help food entrepreneurs get started; and an accelerator called, "Recipes", designed for food entrepreneurs that have a scalable business model that is gaining traction but need funding to grow. Secondly, we know that the right relationships are needed for these businesses to scale, so we CONNECT our member businesses with peers and industry experts. Finally, we coordinate community action projects to CATALYZE systemic change.
Mission
FoodLab Detroit is a diverse community of food entrepreneurs who are using the power of small business to tackle some of Detroit's most challenging societal and environmental problems. As a membership-based nonprofit organization, we provide our member businesses with greater access to hands-on education, tools and resources, peer-to-peer mentoring, and access to capital in order to make good, healthy food a sustainable reality for all Detroiters.
